Skiis
Since the alpine course is short: If in doubt, bring your shorter skies preferably with shorter radius. The snow in Svalbard is very dry and whipped by the wind and therefore extremely fine grained, almost like white concrete. The glide is very sluggish. When waxing your skies take the hardest wax you can find. Unless you’ll have one of these random warm periods, check the forecast!
There is no ski room or ski lockers in the hotel. There will be a container outside the Culture house where you can store your skis. There will also be a small area in the culture house to wax your skis.
