Cross-country skiing

You ski across long plains until becoming tired.

Then you go way further.

Eventually a hill comes, it’s damn tough and you become completely exhausted.

After a while you turn around and go back and finally reach the finish line, almost fainting.

Then everyone is craving a beer, except the Norwegians who prefers to go for another round.

The Cross country will take place in the beautiful Adventdalen (Advent Valley). The tracks starts at the beginning of the valley, just a short walk from the hotel. The tracks will be made for us according to the current conditions of the day. And unless you only look down on the tracks in your stride for the podium, you will experience one of the most spectacular scenery and view across the fjord. As we run through this unspoiled paradise, we’ll not only be challenging ourselves physically, but also immersing ourselves in the rugged beauty of the Arctic wilderness.

As we venture into this unforgiving environment, we must also acknowledge the potential risks that come with it.

But fear not, dear competitors! We will of course be protected from the occasional polar bear that calls Svalbard home by experienced and vigilant guards. These trained professionals will be accompanying us throughout the competition, ensuring that we remain safe and secure as we tackle the challenging courses. With their expert guidance, we can focus on the thrill of the competition, pushing our limits and testing our endurance against the harsh Arctic elements.
